Celebrating Success Summer Term: Week 2

It was lovely to welcome all of the children who joined King’s St Alban’s this term, both in Pre-Prep and the Prep School, and we look forward to sharing their achievements as they begin their King’s journey.

Reception

  • Well done to Lakshmi, who earned a Focus award for the super effort and concentration she puts in to all her lessons.
  • Molly is the class Super Star for being engaged and enthusiastic in everything she does.

Year 1

  • Nell received an Independence award for her enthusiasm and determination with her independent writing.
  • The Super Star award went to Thomas, who always listens and follows advice.

Year 2

  • Persie earned a Focus award for being very enthusiastic in all she does.
  • For have a fantastic first week, J was awarded the Year 2 Super Star certificate.
  • Persie and Sofia brought in the gymnastics medals they received.

Pre-Prep Arts Week Activities

  • Well done to Molly, Winston, Leen, Luna, Iris and Elodie on the wonderful paintings of clowns you created with Miss Chadwick.
  • Geoffrey, Poppy, Savannah and Alice proudly showed us their ‘Big Top’ drawings.  Miss Cartwright was very proud of you!
  • Mrs Chatterton was delighted with Rory, Thomas, Iris and Coco’s acrobat puppets.

Year 3

  • As Year 3 are currently enjoying the final day of their residential visit to the Oaker Wood, we will hear about their achievements next week.

Year 4

  • Well done to Yifei and Georgia, who received their Gold times tables certificate.
  • During the Easter break, a number of Year 4 children and their families took part in the Wolf Run, a 3km obstacle race over extremely muddy terrain.  All of the competitors made it to the finish line safely – though sadly not all of their footwear did!  Matthew, Ben J, Madie, Brodie, Louie, Zara, Emma, Archie, Charlotte, Marnie, Emily F, Rosie, Albert MH and Phoebe proudly showed their medals.  Well done, all of you.
  • Congratulations to Ariya on successfully trialling for Worcester Swimming Club.
  • Ivy brought in the medal which she received at Bredon Rugby Festival.

Year 5

  • The children have been having a great time using the Green Screen this week.  They created some fantastic ‘bubble’ images and also began putting together some French-speaking role play scenarios which they will continue with in next week’s lessons.
  • Monty, Ruqayyah, Reuben and Shreya did some terrific work on life cycles, using scientific terminology and including excellent illustrations.
  • Well done to Aelwen, who brought in a book about writing your own mystery and ghost stories.  Mr Braithwaite and Mr Chapman were delighted to see her honing her creative writing skills in Late Room!

Year 6

  • Ace and Georgina clearly enjoyed having extra time to read over the Easter break, as they both excelled in the Year 6 Easter Reading Challenge!

Extra Special Music!

  • Well done to everyone involved in Chamber Choir for making the Charity Concert held in the Cathedral last month such a great success.  Their performance was described as “very memorable” and helped to raise over £11,000 for Young Lives Against Cancer.
  • Humphrey, Francis, Samuel, Jack, Rory S, Ralphie, Rory W, Oliver, George and Arthur enjoyed a very special trip recently where they learned first hand the highs and lows of working with a film crew.
