Celebrating Success: Summer Term Week 5
As we race to the end of the first half of the Summer Term, the half-term break is in sight but there is no sign of our pupils slowing down; just look at this week’s achievements:
Reception
- Ben received a Focus Certificate for his brilliant focus and concentration in his Maths and his written work.
- The Super Star Award went to Alice, because she really is a super star in all aspects of her learning!
- Well done, Geoffrey, on your super retelling of the story of What the Ladybird Heard.
- Alice was congratulated on her independent writing about Reception’s recent trip to the Slimbridge Wetland Centre.
Year 1
- A Focus Certificate was awarded to Leen for the superb focus she demonstrated when working independently.
- Great listening and enthusiasm earned Archie a Super Star Award.
- Hugo was congratulated on his terrific sentence work.
Year 2
- Rudy received a Focus Certificate for his hard work and concentration.
- J has worked with great confidence in Maths and so received a Super Star Award.
- The children have thoroughly enjoyed creating bugs, butterflies and ladybirds with Mrs Cain and it was wonderful to see Julietta, Rudy, Persie, Elodie, Iris and Max proudly show us their artwork.
Year 3
- Well done to Edith, Kasvika, Millie, Greta and Zack on their excellent designs for a stained-glass window.
- Edith proudly showed us her Wolf Run Medal.
- Cerys has passed Level 5 gymnastics with her club in Evesham.
- Kasvika produced an super power point presentation for GYM homework.
Year 4
- Well done, Madie, on your fantastic French work about animals.
- Archie brought in the medal he received for completing a 10km run in just one hour and 14 minutes. Well done, Archie; that is fantastic!
Year 5
- Mrs Lewis was delighted with the excellent start to their humanities topics which Ellie, Lottie and Harry have made.
- Emily S created a wonderful Royal Family Tree, complete with pictures of the various Monarchs dating back to Henry VI in 1422! Well done, Emily!
- Year Five have been very busy on school visits recently. Mr Hooman was extremely proud of them during their recent trip to PGL Borreaton Park and Mrs Gunter said they were a delight on this week’s visit to Elgar’s birthplace.
- Well done, Monty, on being nominated Player of the Tournament at a prestigious rugby tournament in Ivybridge last weekend.
- Rory S was delighted to win the ‘Adopt a Rhino’ raffle at the summer fair. He received his adoption certificate this morning, for an orphaned black rhino called Storm.
Year 6
- For showing excellent understanding about why Operation Barbarossa was not a success, Evie, Izzy, Katie and Charlie received a well-earned round of applause.
- Teamwork was at the forefront for Ivan, Jack, Will, Harry and Peter, and also Erin, Ace, Georgina and Iman, who worked together to produce posters about the Home Front in WWII.
- Year Six have been creating portraits in the style of Japanese Anime and Mrs Cain was particularly impressed with the work by Katie, Annie, Harry, Tia and Georgia. Katie clearly loves her art, as she was also congratulated on the excellent portrait of King Charles which she did for GYM homework!
- The poem The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes has been the focus for Year Six in English recently, and Georgina and Mila proudly showed us their beautifully presented work.

Times-tables Certificates
- Seven certificates were awarded today, including Gold for Henry R, Rook and Phoebe.
