Celebration Assembly 14.09.18

Pre-Prep have certainly got the term off to a fine start with Growth Mindset Certificates.  Well done to Ace who received a certificate for her perseverance, Mortimer for listening carefully and working hard, Jane for super independent working, Reuben for great concentration, Archie for teamwork and Rosie for showing kindness to all her classmates.

James A and Ace were congratulated on their focus in maths and Rory hasworked extremely well in English this week.

Year 3 are doing very well indeed! In maths, Eleanor K and George H showed great focus, Alice was commended for her neatness and Sam R proved that effort and determination really do pay off.  All of Year 3 were also congratulated on their fantastic attitude and behaviour at their recent visit to Worcester Woods. Both Mrs Atkinson and Mrs Etherington said they were a pleasure to be with.  Year 4 have been enjoying their art topic “Outer Space” this week and Ottilie, Yousrey, Anna and Zara A showed us the wonderful constellation paintings they have done.  From Year 6, Darcey was congratulated on the fantasy story she wrote.  Despite finding it difficult to begin with, she wrote very well indeed with some super vocabulary. 

It was a delight to award so many music certificates this morning.  Grace achieved grade 2 musical theatre with merit, Monty passed grade 2 on the trumpet, Izzy B passed grade 2 and Matilda grade 3 on the flute. Phoebe M passed grade 1 violin with distinction, Darcey achieved grade 2 violin, Clarisse received grade 2 clarinet with merit and John achieved a distinction in his grade 4 trombone exam.  Samantha passed grade 1 cello and Xander passed grade 1 on the double bass.   In singing, Harriet K passed grade 1, Sonali passed grade 1 with distinction, Maheen, Emily A and Moly B achieved grade 2 as did Evie G with  distinction. Evie also passed grade 1 on the violin.  Well done everyone!

Our after school ballet class are going from strength to strength, with awards for Lydia B, Ana, Shreya, Lily G, Phoebe E, Lily E, Florence S, Martha S, Karla and Mihika. 

Out of school activities featured strongly in today’s assembly too. Erin has passed grade 1 ballet, Immie received a medal for cricket and Esther ran 5k in the recent Race for Life.  Charlie F, Harry F and Seth helped their cricket club win the U10 Championship and brought in the magnificent cup the club were awarded whilst Fen won four rosettes for coming first, second, third and reserve champion at the Tenbury Show. Ombersley Cricket Club named Sufyaan as Batsman of the Year and both Charlie A and Ben and as Clubmen of the Year.  Ben also competed in the Nuneaton and District Swimming League along with Jess, Eve and Libby. The team came fourth in the final race and were placed sixth overall in this premier gala for the West Midlands. Well done all of you!
