Coding, Problem-Solving and Teamwork in Year 6
Year 6 pupils have been combining maths and computing skills in a fun and engaging series of practical lessons focused on position and direction.
Using Bee-Bots, pupils applied their understanding of coordinates, movement, and direction by programming the devices to navigate accurately to specific points on a grid. They demonstrated excellent logical thinking and precision as they carefully planned and tested their instructions.
Pupils then took their learning a step further by competing against one another in a creative computing challenge, using their coding skills to play a game of noughts and crosses. The activity encouraged pupils to think strategically, solve problems collaboratively, and adapt their programming as the games developed.
It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination throughout the lessons, with pupils confidently combining mathematical understanding with computing skills in a fun and competitive learning environment.
