King's Hawford

29 April

Determination and Perseverance for House Cross Country.

On the afternoon of Thursday 28th April, King’s Hawford held its annual House Cross Country here on the beautiful school site. Staff and parents alike were delighted with the excellent effort levels, determination and perseverance of all of the children, from Kindergarten 2 all the way up to Year 6. The course itself varied in distance, with Kindergarten 2 running a somewhat reduced course from that of our Year 6 pupils; nevertheless all pupils displayed commendable character and really seemed to enjoy the afternoon. It was also lovely to welcome so many parents on site to spectate at the event and your support was much appreciated by the children and staff.

All children did their houses proud and every single finishing position counted towards the overall total score for each house. The first place finishers in each race were:

Kindergarten 2 Boys & Girls – Sovaan G and Poppy B

Reception Boys & Girls – Frank O and Sadie G

Year 1 Boys & Girls – Cassian W and Elise M

Year 2 Boys & Girls – Austin R and Ruby K

Year 3 Boys & Girls – Arthur O and Pippa P

Year 4 Boys & Girls – George M and Harriet B

Year 5 Boys & Girls – Freddie P and Erin L

Year 6 Boys & Girls – Fletcher K and Charlotte B

All of the points for each finishing position will be collated over the weekend, with the overall house winners for House Cross Country 2022 to be announced in assembly at the beginning of next week. Congratulations to each and every pupil who took part, for some stepping outside of their comfort zone! We are proud of you all.
