Eco minded pupils brainstorm new ideas
Eco-Committee met on Thursday morning and there was certainly a great deal of enthusiasm. The children were brimming with thoughts about how we can continue to keep the environment at the forefront of what we do at KSA.
A huge array of ideas included assigning new energy monitors to each class, and a compost bin on the main playground, along with more bins for the various types of waste. Children would like to continue with litter picking around the locality and trying to fit some environmental awareness days into our already busy schedules! They would like all of us to try to reduce waste from food packaging by encouraging everybody to bring in snacks that are not packaged. The children are also excited about coming up with some of their own environmental-themed awards or competitions.
By the end of the meeting, a substantial list of ideas was produced, and the children are eager to meet again to put ideas into actions!
It was really encouraging to see such passionate young people, full of creativity and plans, which we hope to put in to place throughout the school year and beyond.
