Exploring Europe Year 3 Become Young Geographers
Year 3 have been setting off on an exciting geographical journey as they learn all about Europe in their recent lessons. Pupils have been developing their map skills by learning how to use an atlas, locate countries and understand how Europe is made up of many different nations.
Using atlases and maps, pupils practised finding countries across the continent and identifying which ones belong to the European Union. They explored where these countries are located and began to recognise patterns, neighbouring countries and key geographical features. To bring their learning to life, pupils took part in a fun and interactive quiz. Working with enthusiasm and teamwork, they raced to find countries on the map before challenging themselves to name the capitals of each one. There was plenty of excitement as pupils shared answers, celebrated successes and impressed one another with their growing knowledge.
It has been fantastic to see such curiosity, focus and confidence as Year 3 develop their geographical skills.
