Former Pupils Return to Inspire Year 6

This week, we were delighted to welcome back a group of former King’s St Alban’s pupils, now in the Lower Fourth (Year 7) at King’s Worcester. They returned to share their experiences and offer advice to our current Year 6 pupils as they prepare for the exciting next step in their school journey.

The session provided a valuable opportunity for Year 6 to ask questions, hear honest reflections and gain reassurance from those who have recently made the transition to “Big King’s.” Questions ranged from “Did you ever get lost?” and “What clubs can you join?” to “Are the teachers kind?” all answered with warmth, humour and honesty.

Opportunities like this highlight a real strength of the King’s Foundation. Hearing directly from former pupils helps to reassure our Year 6 children that their questions and worries are completely normal, and, most importantly, that they can be confidently overcome. Moving on to King’s Worcester is a significant milestone, and sessions such as these, alongside our wider transition programme, play an important role in preparing pupils for this change.

We are incredibly grateful to our visiting pupils, as well as the Head and Deputy Head of Lower Years, Mr Chapman and Mrs Worth, for their time, openness and encouragement. They were fantastic ambassadors, and their advice has no doubt helped our Year 6 pupils feel more confident and excited about the journey ahead.
