We were delighted to welcome seven of our former pupils back to King’s St Alban’s this week and mark their special place in the history of the school. In 2009, the Pre-Prep was opened and our very first intake of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children started their King’s journey. Twelve years on, the year 2 cohort is about to leave King’s; the six year old children have become impressive young adults! All of which are fine role models for our current pupils. Between them, there are 4 School Monitors, 1 Scholar, the Senior Netball Captain and some First XV Rugby Players. They also hold offers to study a wide range subjects from Neuroscience and Medicine to Business, Web Development and Maths at some of the top Universities next year.
These seven trailblazers enjoyed a tour of their old school and the chance to chat with some of their old teachers. They were impressed with the extension to the Pre-Prep and our wonderful Nursery (part of which was their Year 2 classroom in 2009!) and reminisced about their houses, Creative ConneXions, trips and sport. All commented that the school seems smaller than in ‘their day.’ As one group moves on, others move up and so it was lovely to have a photo of the old King’s St Alban’s Year 2 with the current King’s St Alban’s Year 2! We are very proud of these young adults and wish them well as they move on to pastures new and life as Old Vigornians.
