Foundation Dance Showcase

On Tuesday evening 25 children from our Dance Club took part in the Dance Showcase at the John Moore Theatre. This amazing event showcases the dancing talents of pupils’ from both King’s St Alban’s and King’s Senior School. The theme of this year’s showcase was ‘Greatest Hits’.

Our first performance was ‘Cuddly Toy’ by Roachford, the lyrics in this rock anthem provided us with a starting point for the dance, a dance about our favourite cuddly toys! The children really enjoyed throwing their teddies into the air and cuddling them as they danced around the stage.

‘Grease Lightning’, a musical masterpiece from the hit show ‘Grease’, was our second dance. The partnered up to work out their own jive routines. The dance required a huge amount of energy and enthusiasm, which the children carried off marvellously.

Ellie H’s solo to ‘The Madhatter’ was beautifully and effortlessly performed. Ellie is a keen dancer and is currently practising to take her Grade 4 in ballet and modern dance.

Phoebe R and Charlotte K choreographed their own dance to ‘Hair Up’ and ‘Salute’. They worked hard in their break times to come up with this up tempo street dance. They performed it with attitude and gusto. Phoebe R is currently practising to take her Grade 4 in ballet and modern dance.

The whole evening was a wonderful occasion, a real celebration of the fantastic dance talent we have within the King’s Foundation.
