Hard work continues as the sun shines!

The school community came together to celebrate a highly successful Sports Day for Reception, Year One, and Year Two. The event was marked by outstanding athleticism, hard work and a wonderful display of camaraderie, as pupils cheered each other on throughout the day. Mr Butt, who was particularly impressed, noted how proud he was to see pupils taking pride in their efforts and supporting one another. “It was fantastic to see everyone supporting one another,” he remarked, emphasising the spirit of teamwork and encouragement that defined the event.

Musical Delight

A special highlight of the assembly was a violin duet performed by Year Six pupils, Sam M and Oliver, who played the Skye Boat Song. The duet was a refreshing change and was warmly received by everyone. The harmonious performance added a touch of elegance to the assembly and showcased the musical talents of the pupils.

Field Events Update

Mr Butt informed the assembly that Years Three and Four pupils were absent as they were participating in field events as the first part of the Prep School Sports Day. He wished them the best of luck and looked forward to hearing about and watching their achievements later in the day.

Merit Awards

Year Two pupils Frank, Alfie, and Casper received merits for their outstanding achievements. Mr Butt invited them to his office for a special treat during break-time, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.

House Point Achievers

Mr Butt next acknowledged top House point achievers from last week and this week. Last week’s achievers, Pippa P (Year 5) and Harry C (Year 6), were also recognised for their impressive performances at the IAPS Swimming Championships, placing 16th and 17th in the country respectively. Their dedication and hard work in swimming were applauded by everyone present.

Special Recognitions

Alex in Year Two received a certificate for his participation in a recent chess competition, demonstrating strategic thinking and skill. Thea was awarded a medal for her achievements in a swimming competition, showcasing her athletic prowess.

Times Tables Rockstars

This week’s Times Tables Rockstars included Rockstar Lyra and Rock Legends Thomas C and Thea, who were celebrated for their exceptional speed, accuracy and hard work in mastering times tables.

Headmaster’s Awards

Mr Butt presented numerous Headmaster’s Awards for outstanding creative writing. Year Twos Tanith, Alex, and Aoife were recognised for their imaginative stories featuring adventurous tales of dogs and hedgehogs fleeing for their lives, encounters with huge furry monsters, and miniature red eyes in the darkness. Additionally, Year Ones Olivia, William, Jack, Maha, Matilda, Elliot, Charlie, and Oliver were commended for their superb adventure stories, filled with exciting plots and vivid characters.

Assembly Highlights

The assembly featured a spirited rendition of this week’s hymn, My God is So Big, complete with enthusiastic actions from the pupils. Oliver (Year 6) concluded the assembly with a heartfelt prayer, thanking God for the School and its community, adding a moment of reflection and gratitude.

House Points Update

Mr Butt announced the running total for this week’s House points. Congratulations to Malvern for gaining the most points this week. However, Clent remains in the lead. With many points to be earned during Sports Day, the competition remains open as the term approaches its end. Mr Butt reminded everyone that it was still all to play for as they entered the final weeks of term.
