Hard working pupils celebrate a stellar week
Today’s Celebration Assembly kicked off with a serene performance by our very own Hawford Harps ensemble. The group, comprising Persie D, Rupert, Cassian W, Ariana, India B and Iza MP, played Brian Boru March and Basket of Eggs. The ensemble are still on a high from their spectacular performance at the Poppy Harp Competition, where they finished third. This was the group’s very first competition, and they lost out to two adult ensembles, which is a quite magnificent achievement. Special mention must go to Ariana, who also entered as an individual performer.
Plenty to Celebrate
Well done to Jess K, who took part in the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival in the non-competitive solo U12 category. Alex V was also commended, for achieving Carbon Fibre level on Numbots this week.

Headmaster Awards (HMAs)
Chloe P and Leighton S have both been awarded HMAs for their fantastic work creating family trees based on their topic text. Mr Butt was also impressed with Olivia W’s handy way of remembering how to spell “people”: “People Eating Omelettes Prefer Little Eggs.” This wonderful little spelling reminder earned Olivia a HMA.
Mrs Gregory has reported that her Engineering Club have been making wonderful progress this term. A highlight for Mrs Gregory has been witnessing the relationships that have developed across the year groups: older pupils have partnered with younger ones to act as mentors. For example, Jasper P and Harry J have been mentored by Finn MP and Robin C, and all four boys received HMAs for their recent feats of engineering; they were all able to talk about their creations with Mr Butt in Assembly this morning.
Last term, Daisy E produced a splendid rainforest collage, for which she was awarded a HMA this morning. This was in addition to a HMA for some brilliant writing in English: Daisy impressed with her super story continuation and scene setting.
In Year 3, Fearne B and Simi H collaborated on a fantastic poster that displayed equivalent fractions. Well done girls!
