Hawford Swimmers Proudly Compete at ESSA National Finals

King’s Hawford pupils Zara, Daisy, Arthur and Abi proudly represented the school on the national stage at the ESSA Primary Schools National Finals, held on Saturday 20 June at Ponds Forge International Swimming Pool in Sheffield.

The prestigious event brought together primary schools from across the country, with both independent and state schools competing for national honours. Having successfully qualified through the regional rounds, the King’s Hawford team earned their place among the very best young swimmers in the UK.

ESSA National Finals

Competing in both the freestyle relay and medley relay, Zara, Daisy, Arthur and Abi delivered superb performances in the heats, securing qualification for the finals in both events after finishing inside the top 16 schools nationally.

In the finals, the team continued to swim with determination and composure, finishing an impressive 12th in the freestyle relay and 13th in the medley relay.

ESSA National Finals

Finishing in the top 15 nationally in both ESSA events is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the children’s hard work, talent and team spirit. The pupils represented King’s Hawford brilliantly throughout the day, with Arthur also enjoying the special honour of parading the West Midlands area sign during the opening ceremony.
