King’s Hawford Hosts Successful Open Water Aquathlon

King’s Hawford was delighted to host its third annual Open Water Aquathlon on Friday afternoon, with glorious sunshine providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable afternoon of sport.

Held at the magnificent Watersedge Leisure Facility, the event welcomed children from King’s Hawford, King’s St Albans and RGS The Grange. Competitors took on the exciting challenge of a 50m open-water swim in the lake before transitioning to a 1000m run around the adjacent field.

The event was thoroughly enjoyed by children, parents and staff alike, creating a fantastic atmosphere of encouragement and support throughout the afternoon. For many of the competitors, it was their first experience of both open-water swimming and the aquathlon format. They embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, demonstrating outstanding determination, resilience and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones.

Aquathlon

All the King’s Hawford children should be immensely proud of their performances. Their effort, positivity and perseverance were evident from start to finish, and they represented the school superbly. A special congratulations goes to Cassian, who produced an outstanding performance to record the fastest combined time across the two U10 boys’ heats, securing victory in his category.
