Harry Rings, Lord of the Potters: Summer 2023 KSA Drama Club Production

Fashion a fusion of Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings by throwing together all the characters, stir vigorously and see what transpires. This was the general idea for our summer play at King’s St Alban’s this term. A dozy Harry Rings needs to tear himself away from his mobile phone for just long enough to place the Goblet of Youth onto the Rock of Ages, thus saving the world from never-ending darkness. But he cannot perform this act alone. A happy accident leads him to meet Mr Mojo and his quicker-witted friend Saaaam. Together they foil the evil plans of he-who-must-not-be-named, but-is-called-Fred, and return the world to the sunlight. Harry, Hermione and Ron (Alice, Helena and Beth) gave convincing performances of the famous threesome, while a splendid Saaaaam (Evie) provided some sound decision-making on behalf of a believably gullible Mister Mojo (Laura). Meanwhile Suzie, in the role of Smeegle, hopped around entertainingly, looking disagreeably dodgy! The soldiers and Eerwigoo battled very effectively and Evil Eyeman proved, well, very evil! The whole cast, from Gladys to Sharon, and Gandalf to Tumbledown put in lively performances. Well done to all in Drama Club!
