Holiday Club ensures Summer of Fun
For six and a half weeks over the summer holidays, King’s Hawford Holiday Club and Activity Camp provided children with an exciting and diverse range of activities. This year, under the charge of Miss Woolley and Miss Crowe, a team of dedicated staff members ensured that children in their care had a summer of fun.
Each week there was a range of activities on offer, including a pizza party, a cookery workshop, sports days and arts and crafts. In addition to this, children enjoyed many offsite trips to exciting locations such as the cinema, the bowling alley, the ice rink and Cotswold Wildlife Park. The children also welcomed a number of guests to the School. Guests ranged from the Animal to the Lego Man, to name but a few.
There were plenty of chances for children to embrace the creative arts. A fantastic street dance workshop was truly inspirational and pushed the children out their comfort zones. Monkey’s in Motion ran a week long drama workshop, culminating in a fantastic performance of The Little Mermaid in the School Barn.
The weeks culminated with an inflatable fun-day, a mini festival and a pizza party!
Alongside the School’s activity camp, our youngest pupils were looked after in the Early Years Holiday Club. Run by our Kindergarten staff, the Holiday Club provided daily care for pre-school children in the familiar setting of our Kindergarten.
Staff ensured that children were kept busy each day with themed activities and trips off-site. The children covered an astounding range of themes including shape monsters, The Gruffalo, Rainbow Jellyfish, animals, sea creatures, Aliens Love Underpants, Teddy Bears’ Picnic and families.
Children attending both Early Years Holiday Club and Activity Camp did plenty of baking, swimming and exploring of the school site. In fact, our Holiday Club children were some of the very first children to test the new King’s Fort!
The Holiday Clubs wouldn’t be possible without the teams of staff, who worked tirelessly for the six and a half weeks. Our Activity Camp for school-aged children returns during the October Half Term and booking forms will be circulated in the coming weeks.
