Joyful Voices and Timeless Traditions: Pupils Shine at our Annual Carol Service

Our Prep pupils, families, and friends came together for our annual Carol Service, filling the Cathedral Nave with excitement and festive joy.

The timeless Christmas story was beautifully told through heartfelt readings, carols, and prayers, set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Worcester Cathedral.

A special shoutout to our Year 3 to 6 readers, who spoke with confidence and clarity beyond their years—truly undaunted by the grandeur of their surroundings. You made us all so proud!

The music was beautiful, and the congregation enjoyed singing favourite traditional carols such as Once in Royal David’s City and Hark the Herald. The children gave an upbeat performance of While Shepherds Rocked, along with the beautifully sung O Magnum Mysterium and One Star, all of which lit up the faces of the adoring congregation. The Choristers followed suit with an incredible performance of John Rutters Angel’s Carol.

It was wonderful to see so many parents, guardians, grandparents, family and friends. As one proud grandparent said afterwards, “What a wonderful way to start the Christmas festivities. The children were incredible!” I think we would all heartily agree. It has certainly set Christmas off to a fine start!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this magical evening of community and celebration.
