Kapla Day: Building a Winter Wonderland Together
On Monday, our school was once again transformed by the magic of Kapla as we welcomed Jennifer back for her fourth visit. As always, she brought with her an incredible energy and expertise, guiding the children through a day of creativity, teamwork, and architectural adventure.
Every child from Reception to Year 3 took part in one of Jennifer’s hands-on workshops. This year’s theme was a festive winter wonderland, and the results were nothing short of spectacular.
Working together, the children constructed reindeer and tiny skiers, a towering Christmas tree, and a collection of smaller trees that formed a beautifully crafted forest scene. Father Christmas himself came to life through carefully balanced planks, and an imaginative village on stilts soon took shape nearby.
Adding to the excitement, the children designed presents, a train with gift-filled carriages, and – thanks to our youngest builders – a charming wooden chalet that completed the landscape.
The atmosphere throughout the day was filled with enthusiasm, concentration, and pride. It was wonderful to watch the children collaborate, problem-solve, and see how much their skills have grown with each Kapla Day over the years.
It truly was a fantastic day, and we are already looking forward to welcoming Jennifer back again to inspire our budding builders.
