King's St Alban's

28 February

Sports Round-up 28.2.20

It’s been a quiet week on the sport front due to the wet weather therefore this week’s King’s St Alban’s Sports Round-Up features just two reports. Both the U11 Girls and the U8/9 Boys braved the elements and competed this week. The Girls competed in the U11 IAPS Netball which was held in Rugby and the U8/9 boys competed in a Football Tournament at RGS The Grange.

Boys Football

U8/9 Football Tournament at RGS The Grange

The boys were involved in four very competitive games against Moor park, RGS, Blue Coat and Hereford Cathedral school. Jack T had four very strong games in goal, where he made a number of spectacular saves to keep the opponents from scoring. Ollie J kept his shape well and showed true determination and hard work to make several strong tackles in defence. Eddie U impressed with some good dribbling and skill to go past his opponents. It was pleasing to see the boys playing the right way and trying to pass the ball out from the back.

Well done boys! Four very good performances.

Girls Netball

U11 IAPS Netball tournament

The girls had an early start on Wednesday as we left school at 7.15am in order to get down to Rugby in plenty of time. The girls had 4 pool matches in the morning and a semi final and 3rd/4th place play off in the Bowl competition in the afternoon. They all played superbly all day never letting their heads go down. Harriet and Lily made some super interceptions, Martha, Ava and Ruby between them scored some goals and Pia, Piper, Arabella and Phoebe were excellent mid court chasing after every loose ball. We didn’t win, however, the girls had a superb day of netball and you could see the improvement throughout the day especially when up against some strong teams from some big boarding schools. Mrs Clark and myself had a super day with the girls and they were great company, well done!
