Lights, Camel, Action…Pre-Prep’s strictly nativity!
The festive season has arrived in style at King’s Hawford. Today we have been treated to not one but two wonderful nativity performances. This afternoon it was the turn of our Pre-Prep pupils. All of the weeks of rehearsing came together as pupils delivered a Strictly themed nativity. The audience joined the Bethlehem Broadcasting Company as they recorded a dazzling dance show to celebrate the special occasion of Jesus’ birth. Our Pre-Prep cast was jam-packed with nativity celebrities. Personalities, including some funky camels and a disco star, came together again in The Barn to recall their roles in the miraculous story.
Year 2 did a sterling job of leading the cast taking on the majority of the speaking roles. The whole year group relished the opportunity to sink their teeth into the meaty script and show off their theatrical skills. Emily G, Tanith H, Chester L, Alice H and Alexander S-C were the hosts with the most as they guided the audience through the nativity story. Taking on the role of Voice Over, Ellis N looked very dapper as his voice boomed out of the microphone. Frank O, Alfie P, Jessica S and Syrenna B kept everything running to schedule and the cast in check as our superb floor managers.
A Strictly themed nativity wouldn’t be complete without a panel of opinionated ‘expert’ judges! Alex V, Maddie P and Bonnie W acted their socks portraying Caesar, the Innkeeper’s Wife and Donkey. Alex channeled his inner Craig Revel Horwood delivering some scathing feedback. Maddie and Bonnie balanced out Caesar’s barbs with helpful and flowery feedback delivered with plenty of showbiz glamour.
Year 2 pupils did a wonderful job taking on the main speaking roles. Sadie G and William K were brilliant in their roles as Mary and Joseph. Aoife W and William C lead the town’s folk to Bethlehem in their roles as Nazareth and Naz Wife. Isla H, Rupert C and Georgina N made extremely cute camels. Yaseen, Indie F, Noah, Casper and Lily did a great job explaining how busy they were as innkeepers. The star of the show in many ways was Bonita-May S who shone very brightly in her role as Star Girl.
Our younger pupils in Year 1 and Reception were integral to the story and did a magnificent job in the roles of sheep, shepherds, angels and town’s folk. Their singing and dancing was terrific.
It was a wonderful show and we are sure that all those who came to watch would agree that the children were absolutely fantastic. A huge thank you to Mr Roberts and the Pre-Prep team for pulling together the show. It is the first year that the whole of Pre-Prep have been combined for their nativity. It was impressive to see the whole of Pre-Prep combine to deliver this festive show.
