Making Waves: A Thrilling Start to Swimming Gala Events

This week, King’s St Alban’s had the pleasure of hosting King’s Hawford and RGS The Grange for our first U10 and U11 Swimming Gala of the school year, and what an afternoon it was! The pool was buzzing with excitement, energy, and the sounds of enthusiastic cheering as our swimmers gave everything in race after race.

Millie and Max led the team brilliantly as captains, setting the tone with their enthusiasm, determination, and encouragement. Their leadership was infectious, inspiring teammates to push themselves and support one another throughout the gala. From the very first race to the final splash, the atmosphere poolside was electric. Pupils cheered every competitor, celebrated every personal best, and encouraged one another with infectious positivity, a true display of team spirit and sportsmanship.

It was fantastic to see the progress our swimmers have made, both in PE lessons and through extra training outside school. Their technique, speed, and confidence in the water were clear for all to see, making every race thrilling and closely contested. The competition was intense, with nail-biting finishes and impressive performances across the board. In the end, King’s St Alban’s edged out the competition overall, giving our swimmers a well-earned boost ahead of next week’s gala at Warwick.

A huge well done to all of our swimmers for their dedication, teamwork, and outstanding sportsmanship. Thank you also to the parents who came along to support and cheer the teams, your encouragement helped make the event a truly memorable one!
