Mindfulness magic with 15 new Ambassadors

The addition of Mindfulness Ambassadors to King’s St Alban’s has been a great hit. Pupils have thoroughly embraced the opportunity and have enjoyed having more ownership over their daily meditations. Our Mindfulness Ambassadors take the lead in their class meditations and are able to offer support to other pupils.

This term we were delighted to welcome another 15 children as Mindfulness Ambassadors. The children, ranging from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 recently completed their Mindfulness Ambassador training. The children ran through the meditation scripts and practised on each other and then we all took part in some mindful eating!

We like to give all children in the Prep School leadership opportunities and a new term is an ideal time to let children from each class step up to the role of Mindfulness Ambassador if they so wish. Running these sessions is a great way to build confidence, as the children have to read their meditation script out loud to the whole class. Occasionally we ask Mindful Ambassadors to run a session in front of the School in assembly time; this can be quite daunting, but the children do it with remarkable ease. We are incredibly proud of our Mindful Ambassadors; they do a brilliant job setting the tone for the day ahead.

The new Mindfulness Ambassadors are as follows:

3A Kasvika, Ben and Alban

4J Ivy and Issy

4R Phoebe and Louie

5P Aron and Monty

5B Seb S and Lily I

6CH Lucy and Iman

6B Evie N and Daisy

Mrs Lewis said of the new additions,

“It is wonderful that so many of our pupils want to become actively involved in Mindfulness within the school. Mindfulness is such an important skill to possess, and I am delighted that we have some many excellent Mindfulness Ambassadors within the School”.
