Musical Theatre Club Pull Out All the Stops
This week, our Musical Theatre Club gave a magnificent performance of Tuck Everlasting to a small audience of family and friends. This term the group of girls have worked extremely hard to turn around a complete performance; time was not always on their side but, thanks to the incredible efforts and support of Miss Lusted and hard work from every single member of the Musical Theatre Club, the girls accomplished the unimaginable.
Everyone who watched the performance last night would agree that the Club did an outstanding job. Lines were learnt, songs were polished and the girls’ timing and execution of their roles was a sight to behold. Members of the Musical Theatre Club span the Prep classes but hold a common interest: a love of musical theatre. This was a passion that Miss Lusted was able to take and nurture, as it is an interest close to her heart too. With the half-term holidays fast approaching, it was a case of “all hands on deck” to ensure the production came together in time.
Tuck Everlasting looks at whether eternal life is a blessing or a curse. A young Winnie Foster must decide when she discovers a spring on her family’s property whose waters grant immortality. Members of the Tuck family, having drunk from the spring, tell Winnie of their experiences watching life go by and never growing older. Ariana P took on the role of Winnie and did a sterling job. The other members of the Musical Theatre Club supported Ariana as members of Winnie’s family.
Congratulations to all of the pupils involved!
