New Mindfulness Ambassadors support pupil well-being
Let us introduce our new Mindfulness Ambassadors for the Autumn Term! Our new Ambassadors from Years Four, Five and Six have started their training, which involves running through the Class Mindful Scripts as a group and then with a partner. Training is important to ensure that the children can adopt the right tone of voice and pause at the correct points to give the class time to practice their breathing techniques. Many of the children have started delivering these quiet, calming sessions to their classes already. They are all enjoying coming to the training sessions as each training session ends with mindful eating… of chocolate!
Year Three Mindfulness Ambassadors will start their training in Mindfulness after the Christmas break.
The third parent’s MiSP mindfulness course started last week at King’s St Alban’s. The course is delivered in eight 90 minute sessions, on a Thursday, from 6pm to 7.30pm. The course looks at how to settle the mind by using a beginners mind by bringing curiosity to the forefront. Further into the course participants will look at mindful listening and how to get a good work/life balance in our lives. The course supports the Year 5 children who are undertaking the Paws.b course, which is now into its fourth week.
It is fantastic that we have so many teachers, TA’s, support staff, children and now parents which are all part of the mindful community.
