Number Day Fun for a good cause

Last Friday, King’s St Alban’s marked Number Day in support of the NSPCC. Number Day is a inclusive maths-inspired fundraising day and one which the School supports each year. Our pupils were invited to come to school dressed in number-themed clothes for the day. The children embraced the opportunity to ditch their school uniforms in favour of their number-themed clothing. During the day, children took part in a variety of fun-filled number-based activities that had been arranged by their teachers.

In Pre-Prep, Reception went on a number hunt around Worcester and used their counting skills to programme Beebots accurately! Year 1 experimented with printing different numbers using the Base 10 and Year 2 made their own set of animal Top Trumps, then discussed the best range for each characteristic and chose numbers for their animal.

In the Prep School there was an enjoyable mix of athletics and maths games. An awesome maths treasure hunt was completed around the School; others drew Fibonacci spirals and calculated the mean, mode and median in science experiments.

Thank you to all the staff and children for taking part in such a great day. The King’s St Alban’s community raised a magnificent £238 for the NSPCC.
