Nursery Enjoy Their First Swimming Lesson

Our Nursery pupils had a wonderful introduction to swimming this week, enjoying their very first lesson with great enthusiasm and curiosity.

The sessions began with an important focus on water safety. The children practised walking carefully around the pool, completing the amusingly named task of “tickling the wall,” which helped them understand pool rules in a fun and engaging way.

Once confident with the safety routines, the children entered the water to begin building their swimming skills. The lessons encouraged water confidence through activities such as kicking, reaching, and exploring with pool toys. It was delightful to see the pupils’ determination and enjoyment as they engaged with the exercises, demonstrating both bravery and resilience.

By the end of the week, it was clear how much the children had enjoyed their experience, with many eager to return for their next lesson. This promising start suggests that we have some very enthusiastic young swimmers in our Nursery class.
