King's Hawford

Plenty to celebrate at King’s Hawford
There was plenty to celebrate this morning. We had a rather magical start to today’s Celebration Assembly. Harry C left the school spellbound with his rendition of the Harry Potter theme tune on his clarinet. Accompanied by Mrs Hughes on piano, Harry completed this difficult piece of music to rousing applause.
Achievements from outside of school.
Last weekend, two of our Year Three pupils competed in the Peopleton Pony and Dog Show. Rosie H finished fourth in her show-jumping category. She also competed in the Handy Pony Obstacle Course. Maysie L had a clear round in her category and performed tremendously well.
Alanna A took part in her first tumbling competition in Birmingham last weekend. She was placed third in her category, against much older children. A highlight for Alanna was receiving her bronze medal from an assortment of GB Olympic Gymnasts.
Michelle Z and Nicolas HT both competed in the Delancey Chess Mega-Final. Congratulations to Michelle, who has made it through to the Giga-Final!
It was a busy weekend for Michelle, as she also won the Grade 8 Strings Class, in which there were 11 competitors, with her violin in the Northfield Festival of Music and Speech on Saturday.
Year Three pupil Ruby put in a wonderful effort at Worcester Pitchcroft Parkrun, coming first in her age category.

Well done to Jasper P and Daisy E, who were awarded HMAs for their brilliant picture frames. It was obvious that both children had worked hard to create these masterpieces. In Art, Florrie W produced a fantastic sketch of a bee. Bella P has demonstrated amazing focus during her reading comprehension about the imperial state crown; well done Bella!
Over in Year Two, Ffion W and Ellie H have both written excellent three-verse poems about Hedgehogs. Mr Butt was very impressed with their use of descriptive language.
Indie F has impressed her teachers this week with her much improved handwriting and the very detailed fact file she has created.
