Headmaster Awards (HMAs)
Well done to Hugo G, who has had a fantastic few weeks in Year One. Today Mr Butt presented Hugo with two HMAs, the first of which was for a brilliant fact file on Africa, and the second was for fantastic improvement in swimming. Hugo has also gone up five levels in his phonics! Altogether this is an exceptional achievement.
Year Two are coming to the end of their Dungeons and Dragons topic. In D&T pupils have been creating drawbridge models and Mrs McCullough was particularly impressed with Chester and Caspar’s efforts. Well done boys.
Florence J in Year One has done some brilliant home learning. In her own time, Florence has created a booklet jam-packed with facts about Africa. The booklet even included a fictional story about a man living in Africa.
In Year Four, Zara O’s Viking poem from last term has really impressed her teachers, earning her a HMA. Staying in Year Four, Harry J has done a super job in science this week. Mrs Redman challenged the year group with an organism hunt. Harry J collated his research in a well-presented way: data was collected in a tally chart and converted into a bar chart. Super work!
Year Four pupils have done exceptionally well in their recent German test. Well done to Izzy W, Adelyn K, Robyn C, Zara O, Charles N and Daisy E, all of whom scored full marks on their reading, listening and writing.
Isaac R has done some superb work on adaptations, producing an interesting fact file on bears and their adaptations. Annabel J and Sienna G produced some great work on the Zanti tribe and Luke H received a HMA for his brilliant fact file on World War I.
Year Five Valentine’s Poetry Competition
It was wonderful to welcome Mr Low back to King’s Hawford. On his last visit he held a poetry workshop for Year Five, which culminated in him setting the year group a challenge. Today the winners of the competition were announced by Mr Low.
