Pre-Prep Arts Week: A Celebration of Magic and Creativity

This week, our Pre-Prep pupils have been immersed in the wonder and creativity of Arts Week, an annual highlight in our calendar. This year’s enchanting theme is “Magic,” and the excitement has been building as all our activities lead up to the much-anticipated Summer Show on 25th June.

The week began with a magical adventure to Eastnor Castle, where the children explored the historic rooms and imagined what magical creatures might once have lived within its ancient walls. They also thoroughly enjoyed wandering through the castle grounds and letting off steam in the fantastic playgrounds.

On Tuesday, we welcomed Mrs Hewitt, one of the talented art teachers from King’s Worcester, for a magical art workshop. The children loved creating their own imaginative and whimsical artworks, and as always, Mrs Hewitt’s visit was a highlight, her creativity and enthusiasm are always so inspiring.

Wednesday brought a sprinkle of linguistic magic, with Mrs Kilbey’s French lessons taking on a magical twist! Year 1 got creative making magical collages, while Reception children began rehearsals for a charming dance featuring broomsticks, guaranteed to bring some sparkle to our show. The children also collaborated in cross-year group activities, working together on large-scale magical art pieces, building friendships as well as creativity.

Meanwhile, Mrs Gunter and Mrs Haggarty have been working hard with the children on the musical elements of the Summer Show, and rehearsals are already sounding fantastic. The joy and enthusiasm from every child has been a delight to see throughout the week.

Arts Week is not only a celebration of creativity, but also a valuable opportunity for pupils to build confidence, work collaboratively, and express themselves in new and exciting ways. We can’t wait to see it all come together at the show later this term.

Well done to all of Pre-Prep for a truly magical week of learning and imagination!
