Pre-Prep Stars Shine in Nativity

This week, Pre-Prep delivered two super performances of their Nativity to a packed Pre-Prep hall.  This year our Christmas play was called Lights, Camel, Action, based on the popular television show Strictly Come Dancing.  There were lots of sequins and sparkle, as the children played the parts of traditional Nativity characters with a showbiz twist!

As you might expect from a Strictly Nativity, the audience were treated to a number of dance routines of varying styles, including the tango and a line dance. A Strictly themed Nativity wouldn’t be complete without a panel of ‘expert’ judges. Lights, Camel, Action features three famous names on the judging panel: the Donkey, the Innkeeper’s Wife and Caesar! This excellent team of judges added some extra sparkle to the show: Caesar’s barbed critiques were superbly balanced with the compassionate and kind feedback from the Innkeeper’s Wife and the Donkey!

Year Two took on the majority of the speaking roles in what was for many their final Nativity performance at school: all of the Year Two children acted as wonderful roles models for our younger pupils. Pupils from Year One shone in the supporting roles including the camels, shepherds, innkeepers and backing dancers. Our Reception pupils definitely added to the cute factor, taking on the roles of angels, townspeople and Wise Men.

The children were amazing; they spoke their lines with confidence and danced their hearts out! Productions such as our Nativity take a lot of hard work to pull together, and we must therefore extend a massive well done and thank you to our team of Pre-Prep staff, who worked tirelessly to ensure that the children were show-ready. We would also like to thank Mrs Gunther for her musical assistance.
