Spring Term Prefects Ready to Lead by Example

A new year symbolises a fresh start, as we look forward to brighter days and better weather, and we kick-started 2024 and our Spring Term by appointing a new Pupil Leadership Team. Our Year Six pupils are excellent ambassadors for the School and act as wonderful role models for our younger pupils.

As is customary, our Year Six pupils were invited to write letters of application for their chosen role, outlining why they believed they would be superb examples to their fellow pupils. Mr Butt was overwhelmed by the volume of exceptional applications he received; the very best were written from the heart, detailing personal experiences, thoughts and feelings, and with a real sense of ambition about the roles they were seeking.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Robyn G and George M were taking on the responsibilities of Heads of School. In these roles, Robyn and George will set the best of examples, show visitors around the School, represent the School at events and follow and champion the school rules.

Our Heads of School will very ably assisted by our new Prefect Team; we are pleased to report that our new prefects are Teddy C, Sienna G, Palmer G, Annabelle J, Ava I, George O, Will N, Jetta P, James B, and Hattie D.

Teddy C and Sienna G are our Academic Prefects and as such will be responsible for assisting staff to keep the Library Bus in good order, listening to younger pupils read, helping with lunchtime, and raising and lowering the school flag.

The roles of Citizen Prefects have been taken by Palmer G, Annabel J, Ava I and George O. These pupils will offer assistance with office jobs, help staff, support their peers and help with Reception break duties.

Will N and Jetta P take up the roles of Sport Prefects and will assist in keeping the sports storage area tidy, collect equipment at the end of a session, attend sports clubs and act as positive role models.

Our Performing Arts Prefects will take the lead in all things creative. James B and Hattie D will act as role models for the rest of the school, attend concerts and performances, and help teachers with art displays.

We look forward to watching all our Prefects lead by example this term.
