King's Hawford

23 June

Pupils remain focused and driven to succeed

Today’s Celebration Assembly started with a magnificent performance from Michelle Z on the violin. Michelle gave a faultless performance of Capriccio by Chaminade. On Monday, Michelle will be taking her Grade 8 violin exam and, if successful as we are sure she will be, will become the only King’s Hawford pupil ever to have achieved two Grade 8s. This is particularly remarkable as Michelle only started violin lessons in Year Three. It is safe to say that Michelle’s performance was a real inspiration for our younger musicians.

Year One have produced some excellent writing in their recent assessments. The children were tasked with writing adventure stories and Sadie G, Alexander SC, Alice H, Alex V and Georgina N in particular all crafted some brilliantly descriptive tales.

Mrs Redman was impressed with the brilliant plant fact files produced by Bella P and Annie W.

Year Five pupils Ben, George and Oliver were invited to join Mr Butt at the front of the assembly to discuss their CAM toys. Each of the boys had built the toys from scratch and had managed to create individual mechanisms that gave the toys movement.

Following on from their trips last week, Mr Marsland praised Eleanor N for being a superb ambassador for King’s Hawford. Eleanor was a star on all of the trips and really showed her caring nature by looking after all members of her class.
