Reception’s Fantastic First Trip to Little Owl Farm Park
On Wednesday, Reception enjoyed their very first school trip, a wonderful visit to Little Owl Farm Park, which tied in perfectly with their current topic, Autumn on the Farm. Excitement was high as the children boarded the bus, eager to see what adventures awaited them!
Their first job upon arrival was to take part in the “top feed,” where they delighted in feeding a variety of friendly farm animals. From goats to sheep and everything in between, there were plenty of happy faces (both human and animal!) along the way.
After a quick play at the new playground, the group headed back to the barns to meet some of the farm’s newest residents, adorable piglets! The children loved watching the colourful peacocks strut their feathers and giggled at the cheeky meerkats darting about. In the petting barn, there were even more opportunities for hands-on fun as the children carefully held and stroked a range of small animals.
A highlight of the day came when the children met the reindeer and offered them a very special snack, crunchy carrots! After a well-earned lunch, Farmer Jim arrived to take everyone on an exciting tractor trailer ride around the farm. The children had great fun spotting animals and even fed the rhea from the trailer, a memorable moment for all!
After such a fun-filled day of learning and laughter, it was time to return to school, tired but happy. Well done, Reception you were a credit to us all!
