Reception’s phonics Journey
Reception have made an excellent start to their phonics learning this term. Since beginning their very first set of sounds, the children have shown real determination and enthusiasm. They have particularly enjoyed the stories that accompany each sound and have impressed us with their thoughtful responses to comprehension questions.
The characters linked to each sound have captured the children’s imaginations and supported their growing confidence with early letter formation. We have been delighted to see how quickly they are developing these important skills.
To make learning engaging and memorable, the children have explored writing their sounds using a wide range of resources, from flour, paint and chalk, to water, pens and of course, pencils. This hands-on approach has made practising their sounds both exciting and effective.
We are incredibly proud of Reception’s hard work and progress so far. Well done to all of the children, it has been a fantastic start to their Phonics journey!
