This week, our Reception pupils embarked on an exciting visit to the school kitchen as part of their ‘Who Helps Us at School?’ topic. The children had the opportunity to meet our talented school chefs, who gave them a behind-the-scenes tour and introduced them to the impressive equipment used to prepare meals for everyone in our school.
The pupils were fascinated by the sheer size of the ovens and mixers, and they couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw the enormous conveyor belt dishwasher. However, the biggest surprise of all was stepping into the walk-in freezer! The chilly environment inspired plenty of laughter as the children pretended to be penguins waddling around in the cold.
This memorable trip is just the beginning of their exploration of the many people who play an important role in helping at school. Reception class has many more exciting visits and discoveries ahead, and we can’t wait to see what they learn next as they continue their journey of curiosity and discovery.
