Rising Stars @ LAMDA Showcase
On Thursday 15th May children from Year 2 – Year 6 took part in a LAMDA showcase in preparation for their LAMDA exams next Wednesday.
Lines have been learnt, the stage was set and the energy in the barn was electric as the pupils raised to the occasion and brought fantastic performances to life for their audience. Children in Year 2, 3 and 4 all performed their poems with a full and diverse mix of styles and genres from the alliterative tongue twister called ‘The Slime Takeover’ to the sinister Witches from William Shakespeare’s Macbeth and wishing ‘Pig’s Could Fly’ every performer gave sterling performances with clarity and poise.
The audience were also treated to Acting performances from our Year 5 and 6 children who had to perform a duologue extract from a published play.
This requires skills in understanding the character and communicating the storyline to the audience. Performers have to use their voice and body language to create the mood and atmosphere of their piece. I was incredibly proud to watch the weeks of hard work being played out on the stage. Every character was portrayed with style and class and we were transported to worlds in woods, bedrooms, an indoor zoo and even an undertaker’s shop.
Huge congratulations to the following children who all took part and may I take this opportunity to wish them all the luck for the upcoming exams next week.
