Safer Internet Day: A Week of Learning and Awareness
Throughout this week, our Prep pupils have engaged in valuable lessons surrounding the importance of online safety in recognition of Safer Internet Day, the UK’s largest celebration of digital awareness. Each year, Safer Internet Day highlights current online issues and themes that directly impact young people as they navigate the digital world.
The theme for 2025 was “Too Good to Be True? Protecting Yourself and Others from Scams Online.” Our pupils explored ways to identify and protect themselves from online scams, learning how to stay safe in the digital space.
By the end of the week, our pupils gained important knowledge on the following objectives:
- Understanding the importance of keeping personal information private.
- Knowing how to stay safe online and use technology responsibly.
- Learning where and how to report concerns and seek support for online issues.
- Recognising that people can sometimes behave differently online, including pretending to be someone they are not.
It’s been a week of essential discussions and practical skills that will help our pupils navigate the online world safely and confidently.
