Spooky Season in the Art Room for Year 2 & Year 4

This week, the Art Room has been a hive of creative energy (and a little Halloween mischief!) as our Year 2 and Year 4 pupils embraced a spooky seasonal theme in their lessons.

Year 2 pupils have been working hard on their paper pumpkin creations, carefully practising their cutting and fine motor skills to bring their designs to life. Each child added their own personal touch, from happy and silly expressions to spooky and scary pumpkin faces, no two pumpkins were alike! The children demonstrated growing confidence in using scissors and attention to detail, resulting in a wonderful display of bright, expressive pumpkins that have added a splash of autumn colour to our classrooms.

Meanwhile, Year 4 pupils took their creativity a step further by designing and making pumpkin-shaped tea light holders using clay. They used acrylic paints and Posca pens to decorate their holders in vibrant shades, the results were truly impressive! To complete their Halloween-themed artwork, Year 4 also created Halloween cat pictures, experimenting with colour contrast and line work to capture the mysterious and magical mood of the season.

It’s been a wonderfully creative week full of imagination, skill and a touch of spooky fun. The finished pieces are a testament to the pupils’ growing artistic confidence and enthusiasm well done everyone.
