After half-time, King’s Hawford found their rhythm – Simi and Fliss made key tackles, leading to goals from Simi and Daisy. Abi’s determination and consistent effort on the pitch earned her Player of the Match.
After a short break, Mrs Halpin’s team took to the field with great energy.
Ellie H and Elise impressed with their speed and control, while Charlotte F and Florrie stood firm in defence. Jasmine’s superb skill and confident strikes from the top of the D secured multiple goals and Player of the Match.

KH U10/U11 vs The Elms School
The Year 5 girls’ hockey team travelled to The Elms for a challenging and competitive fixture this week.
Right from the first whistle, it was clear that The Elms would be tough opponents, and the match proved to be a real test for the King’s Hawford team.
Despite the pressure, the Hawford girls showed fantastic resilience throughout. Ffion was outstanding in defence, consistently reading the game well and making crucial tackles to keep The Elms at bay. Her calmness under pressure, along with Nina as Goalkeeper, and strong clearances helped give the team confidence during some intense periods of play.
It was a tough game overall, with both teams battling hard in midfield and creating chances. Although Hawford didn’t come away with a win this time, the girls never gave up and continued to fight until the final whistle.
There’s lots to work on going forward, but this was a great learning experience and the team can be proud of their effort, determination, and positive attitude. Player of the match was Ffion W.
Well done, girls – onwards and upwards!
Mrs Butt’s team showed great resilience and progressed their play in every quarter they played.
Ariana worked hard up front making herself available to receive passes from midfielders Aurelia, Vivienne and Adelyn. Zara, Valerie and Eleanor held tight at the back as the last line of defense to protect Tilly in goal. Zara and Adelyn particularly impressed with their consistent ball pace getting the ball up the pitch with hard, flat passes.
Vivienne dominated in the midfield covering a huge proportion of the pitch. She was subsequently nominated player of the match by the opposition for her tireless effort throughout the game, whilst Tilly was nominated player of the match by Mrs Butt. Tilly made some incredible saves in goal with both pad and glove and cleared the ball with power at every opportunity.
A fantastic performance!
