Strong Sense of School Spirit Recognised

King’s Hawford has been celebrating the news that the School is a finalist in the Muddy Stilettos School Awards 2023. We were delighted to learn that we have made it through to the final of the awards in the only category that we entered. The Best Sense of School Spirit category is hotly contested and we are honoured to have been recognised alongside the following schools:

  • Atelier 21 School, Crawley
  • Coworth Flexlands Prep School & Nursery, Chobham
  • Great Walstead School, Lindfield
  • Saint Ronan’s School, Hawkhurst

King’s Hawford’s sense of school spirit is something to behold. The school community is united by a set of shared values. Pupils, parents and staff form a close-knit community, regularly coming together to support the School through events led by the Parents’ Association or the School itself. From Welcome Home Hawford to the Firework and Bonfire Extravaganza and Santa’s Grotto to the Summer Ball, there are plenty of events designed to promote school spirit each year.  School events such as class assemblies, sporting fixtures, charity events and arts week also offer regular opportunities for the school community to come together.

The King’s Hawford community is renowned for being kind, caring and inclusive. In recent years the School has embraced sign language, with after-school clubs proving very popular. Charity and community outreach have always been at the heart of life at King’s Hawford, bringing the school community together with a shared goal and demonstrating to pupils how small actions can result in big change. It is this sense of kindness, giving and community that underpins the School’s strong community.

The winners of the Muddy Stiletto School Awards will be announced on Wednesday 7th June; until then we will all keep our fingers firmly crossed.
