Summer Concert showcases artistic talent at KSA

There was a buzz of anticipation in the John Moore Theatre on Tuesday evening, as pupils and parents gathered for our Prep School Summer Show. This is a very special event in the KSA calendar, bringing together music and dance in a spectacular and colourful display of our pupils’ skill.

Orchestra, Wind Band, Chamber Choir and String Group have all been working hard throughout the term to prepare their pieces for the show. They played beautifully, treating the audience to a wide variety of music, ranging from the rousing Pirates of the Caribbean medley (Orchestra) to the hauntingly beautiful Can you hear me?, complete with sign language (Chamber Choir) and the lilting Morning by Grieg (Wind Band). Our Year Six band brought the house down with a superb performance of Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins. The boys worked independently to rehearse and prepare this item, giving up a lot of their break time to practice regularly. They should be very proud of themselves!

Dance Club wowed the audience with their lively performance of Confident by Demi Lovato, a wonderful cheerleading dance. Many of the children also performed solos, duets and group dances that they had choreographed themselves. These pieces were full of variety and beautifully performed, with real skill and commitment. Ranging from the toe-tapping Six to the exuberant Mambo No.5, there really was something for everyone.

The show finished with a grand finale: Wonder by Emeli Sande. Led by the Dance Club, this allowed all our performers to take to the stage once last time, bringing the show to an end in style.
