King's Hawford

19 May

Sun shines on summer sports.

This week our sporting fixtures were blessed with blue skies and sunshine. It was wonderful to see our Prep children representing the school in several different disciplines including athletics and cricket.

Year 5 and 6 Athletics

On Thursday, 20 children from Years 5 and 6 travelled to Kidderminster & Stourport Athletics Club to compete in the Abberley Athletics Competition. It was a great opportunity for the boys and girls to experience an official athletics meet and record scores on a full 400m synthetic track. The children worked really hard and should be proud of their performances. The afternoon saw lots of Personal Bests set in both the track races and field events. It was especially nice to compete alongside students from both King’s St Alban’s and King’s Senior.

Year 4 Mixed Cricket vs RGS The Grange – Mr Stigant

A group of mixed cricketers from Year 4 travelled to RGS The Grange for a very competitive but enjoyable match. The children set up well choosing to bat first with a sensible batting partnership between Pippa P and Millie B. Our bowlers then proceeded to take 8 wickets. Well done to Henry K who took 3 but could have been many more! It was a nail biting finish – all in all an excellent afternoon of cricket.
