Rosslyn Park National Rugby 7s Festival
We combined with King’s Hawford to take a U11 team to the Roslyn Park National Rugby 7s Festival for the very first time this year. There was a real buzz in the ‘bus, even with the 6am start! It was great to look around at the boys mixing together, building friendships and even singing along to Mr Cook’s questionable music playlist! Even with the unfavourable rugby 7s conditions, the boys showed true flair and impressed with their style of rugby. This led to us winning our first four games against Hoe Bridge, Handcross Park, Latymer Prep and Scarisbrick Hall. In these four games we scored an outstanding 15 tries and only conceded 2! This showed not only our fantastic work with ball in hand but also how strong we were in defence. In the last game we faced Hall Grove School, who, like us, were going into the game unbeaten. Unfortunately the boys ran out of steam and just came short! The School and the PE staff are nevertheless very proud of their achievements.
U11 and U10 netball tournament at Warwick Prep School
The U11 and U10 girls had a wonderful morning up at Warwick Prep School’s netball tournament last Saturday. The U11s played 7-a-side netball, with a full height post for the first time. It was so lovely to see how well they played, how well they moved, and that their determination was never ending. They really enjoyed joining forces with King’s Hawford. Many of the scores were close and the improvement they have made since they played some of the same teams at the IAPS netball tournament back in February was clear for all to see. Well done all!
