King's St Alban's

Upper Sixth pupils return to KSA!

Trailblazers and role models return to King’s St Alban’s to deliver stories and motivation to the next generation of learners.

It is always heartwarming to welcome back former pupils to King’s St Alban’s. Bacon rolls and waffles incited our very first Reception class back to Pre-Prep for a World Book Day breakfast treat! Upper Sixth pupils Sophie, Grace, Flora, Mia, Jack, Henry, Sam H and Sam N arrived ready to share happy memories from the very beginning of their 14 year long King’s journey. Our current Reception class dressed to impress for the occasion; Alice in Wonderland, the Gingerbread Man and Lottie Ladybird were amongst the younger guests.

The Pre-Prep department at King’s St Alban’s opened in 2009 and these Upper Sixth pupils were our trailblazing reception class. Now a little large for the furniture, the sixth formers returned to the classroom that set the foundations for their future success; many hours of phonics, reading, creativity and imaginative role play were enjoyed throughout their time in Pre-Prep.

We have watched these young people grow into delightful, respectful young adults. We have followed their journey and witnessed many flourishing talents on the sports field, on the stage as well as academic success in the classroom. As their King’s journey begins its final chapter (and before the exam preparations start to kick in earnest!) it was the perfect opportunity to welcome them back to inspire our younger pupils to pursue their passions.

Today’s visit provided both a sense of nostalgia and pride for our whole community. Once the breakfast had been enjoyed, our youngest pupils listened in awe to stories being shared by the Upper Sixth pupils. Faces of joy and lively conversations whilst sharing picture books is a world Book Day highlight and memory that will live on for a long time.
