Weekly Round up Spring Term: Week 3
Reception
- For being full of energy and enthusiasm, Coco received a Super Star award.
- Molly earned a Focus certificate for her hard work in phonics and maths.
Year 1
- A Focus certificate went to Magson for his effort in this week’s maths challenge.
- Tiegan received a Super Star award for her great attitude to her learning.
Year 2
- Julietta received a Focus certificate for always being engaged and listening to advice.
- Rudy is the class Super Star for putting so much effort into his joined up writing.
- Julietta and Elodie earned a round of applause for their super Antarctic Adventure Stories. Both the quality and quantity of their stories was exceptional.
- Well done to Max on completing his Level 4 badge in swimming.
- Huge thanks to Iris and Daisy for their help with our assembly about the Chinese New Year.
Year 3
- Mrs Atkinson has been delighted with all of Year 3 for the subject-specific vocabulary they have learned in science.
Year 4
- Inspired by the poem, Cat Began by Andrew Matthews, Year 4 have been writing poems about themselves. Well done to Emma, Madie, Emily, Mia, Zara, Isy, Skye and Ariya on their superb work.
- In recognition of the Chinese New Year, Year 4 sang Hung Chai Mei Mei.
Year 5
- As part of their history topic, Year 5 designed a dress for Queen Elizabeth I, incorporating symbols of youth and wealth which were used to demonstrate her power. Well done to Emily, Grace, George, Isaac, Will, Florence and Lottie on some superb designs.
Year 6
- Last term, Year 6 enjoyed a series of spooky stories and lessons with teachers from the Senior School in the Cathedral’s Undercroft. (You can read about it here) There followed a competition to write a spooky Gothic story and this week, Mr Low, the Head of English in the Senior School, joined us for our assembly to announce the winners. Mr Low commended Rory, Penny and Charlie on their excellent stories and then presented third prize to Jack, second prize to Georgina and first prize to Ace. Well done, all of you!
- Mrs Hand has introduced a Read Around the Word challenge, and Mila, Georgina, Ace and Tia have all completed their ‘world voyage’ by reading for a total of 11 hours each.
- Eight more children in Year 6 completed their Silver times tables challenge.
- Well done Rory, on a superb solo in this year’s Orchestral Workshop.
