Weekly Round up: Spring Term Week 4

Reception:

Mikaeel earned a Focus Certificate and Winston is this week’s Super Star.

Year 1:

Akshay earned a Focus Certificate and Hugo is the Year 1 Super Star.

Year 2:

Sofia received a certificate for great perseverance and the Super Star award went to Persie.

Year 3:

Mrs Atkinson was delighted with all of the class for their excellent teamwork and enthusiasm in science this week.  They have been working on their subject specific vocabulary, with especially good results from Millie, Greta, Edith and Zack.

In art, Year 3 have been working on oil pastels in the style of Georgia O’Keefe and Mrs Cain was delighted with Alex, Greta, Zack and Millie’s superb work.

Year 4:

The children have been writing Space-themed stories this week. Well done to Harry, Yifei, Arche and Albert on their great work.

Handwriting Hero awards went to Ben, Georgia, Rosie, Yifei and Tilly.

Will and Emily were congratulated on their noun and pronoun work in French.

George C sent a Christmas card to King Charles III and today he proudly showed us the letter of thanks he received from Buckingham Palace.

Year 5:

In French, the children have been writing about “ma famille.” Well done to Emily and Will on their use of verbs and pronouns to create some great sentences.

Helena C brought in the cup she won in a 25m breaststroke race.

Jasper passed Grade 1 trumpet.  Well done!

Eight Gold, eight Silver and two Bronze Times Tables Certificates were awarded.

Year 6:

Well done to 6CH on their terrific teamwork when learning to play a piece of Gamelan music.  This was recorded and shown in assembly; we were all very impressed.

Jack, Harry and Iman completed the Read Around the World challenge.  Well done, all of you.

AFP:

In Wednesday’s AFP lessons, they children wrote descriptive pieces about a ship in a bottle. Oliver, Conor, Mortimer, Ralphie, Arthur, Rory, Alice and Martha deserved a special mention for their excellent work.  Special thanks to Conor for reading his piece to us all.

Choristers:

It was wonderful to hear our Choristers perform part of Britten’s Ceremony of Carols this morning, joined by George and Jack, who left KSA last summer.
