Year 1 Have Fun Exploring Numbers
This week, our Year 1 pupils immersed themselves in the wonderful world of numbers, combining creativity and learning in a truly engaging activity. The children were challenged to represent numbers in as many different ways as they could think of, and their enthusiasm and curiosity were a joy to see.
Using a variety of mathematical tools, including Numicon pieces, part-whole models, and ten frames, the pupils explored how numbers can be visualised and understood in different forms. This hands-on approach allowed them to experiment, problem-solve, and deepen their understanding of numerical concepts in an interactive and enjoyable way.
Throughout the activity, the children demonstrated remarkable numerical curiosity and a willingness to tackle challenges with energy and enthusiasm. They collaborated with classmates, shared ideas, and discovered new ways to think about numbers. It’s inspiring to see their confidence with mathematics grow as they engage with these creative tasks.
Well done, Year 1, for your brilliant effort and positive attitude! We look forward to seeing what you will achieve next as you continue your mathematical journey. Keep up the fantastic work!
