Year 1 Start the New Year with Energy, Reflection and Determination
Year 1 have returned full of enthusiasm after the Christmas holiday, ready to embrace a brand-new term of learning and fun. This week, they used the New Year as a wonderful starting point for their PSHE lesson, thinking carefully about their strengths and what they might like to improve over the months ahead.
Together, they discussed the idea of New Year’s resolutions, reflecting thoughtfully on the goals they would like to achieve. Their ideas were imaginative and inspiring, from building more complicated Lego models to developing their skateboarding skills and from improving in athletics to becoming even better footballers!
They also recognised an important message: that achieving their goals will take perseverance, practice and a positive attitude. It was lovely to see such maturity and determination from our Year 1 pupils so early in the term, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements as the year unfolds.
