Year 2 Crack the Code and Welcome an Alien Visitor!
Year 2 returned from half term to an out-of-this-world surprise: an alien had appeared in our classroom, clutching a mysterious letter covered in strange symbols! The children were given the exciting challenge of decoding the alien’s message into English, but first they had to solve a series of tricky Maths and Science questions, using their research skills to uncover the clues.
After a morning of code-cracking, the excitement grew as Year 2 finally revealed the hidden message: “Where am I? Please help me find a quieter place.”
Determined to help their new visitor, the children decided to teach the alien all about its new surroundings during Geography. They explored the United Kingdom, learning about its four countries, their capital cities and the seas that surround our island.
They also thought it would be a good idea to investigate where the alien had travelled from! So, this half term, Science lessons will take them on a journey into space, discovering more about our Solar System and beyond.
It looks set to be an exciting half term full of curiosity, discovery and plenty of out-of-this-world learning in Year 2!
