Year 2 Get to Grips with Measuring
This week, Year 2 have fully immersed themselves in their Maths learning, focusing on the topic of length. Through a variety of engaging indoor and outdoor activities, pupils have explored how to measure and compare different objects, working confidently with units ranging from centimetres to metres.
The children have developed their skills in estimating and predicting length, before carefully measuring to check their ideas. A key focus has been learning how to use a ruler accurately, ensuring they start from zero and read measurements with precision. It has been wonderful to see their growing confidence in handling equipment and applying their knowledge in practical situations.
Pupils also embraced a range of problem-solving challenges, encouraging them to think critically about length in real-life contexts. Their enthusiasm and determination to tackle each activity has been fantastic.
Well done, Year 2, for your hard work and positive attitude towards your Maths learning!
